I have been the Manager of Red Kite Community Nursery since April 2014 and am currently studying for my Post Graduate Diploma in Childhood Practice at Glasgow University. I am a mother of three and an intrepid traveller. I had over four years of duty mum experience prior to taking on the role of Play Practitioner at Red Kite Community Nursery. I’m quite an outgoing sort of person, and very friendly and approachable. These are essential qualities for a Play Practitioner because not only does it allow the building of relationships with the people that I work, with but also with parents, carers and most importantly the children. I have completed my SVQ3 in Early Education and Childcare, am registered with the SSSC and regularly attend additional continued professional development.
I have played an active role at Red Kite Community Nursery for more years than I care to remember - I just don't seem to be able to leave! I was Chair for three years before becoming Joint Lead in August 2008. Due to other commitments I stepped down from this position in 2011 and am now an Early Years Educator. I am completed my SVQ3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. The atmosphere at Red Kite Community Nursery is friendly and approachable. We have excellent relationships with each other, parents and of course the children. I am a mum of five and my children have attended this nursery. I love the fact that parents/carers can be involved in our nursery as much as they want, from being a duty mum up to Chair of the Management Committee.
Our staff team is made up of Manager Tracey and Early Years Educator Lorna. Our staff team are appropriately qualified, PVG checked and registered with the SSSC.
